LITTLETON, Mass. (May 8, 2006) - The New England Pro Golf Tour, a
wholly owned subsidiary of Greens Worldwide Incorporated, (OTCBB
GRWW), announced today that SkyGolf's "SkyCaddie" GPS
rangefinder has become the official yardage-measuring device of the
New England Pro Golf Tour and the only device approved for use on
the tour in 2006.
With the announcement, the New England Pro Golf Tour becomes the
first professional tour to permit the use of yardage-measuring
devices since the United States Golf Association approved the use of
such devices as a condition of competition beginning Jan. 1, 2006.
"The New England Pro Golf Tour is excited to have SkyGolf GPS
as the only approved yardage-measuring device available for use
during our tournaments,'' said Brian Hebb, president of the New
England Pro Golf Tour. "This technology represents the future
of golf, and we believe this partnership will be an asset for our
tour as well as our players. We are proud to be the first
professional tour to allow yardage-measuring devices following USGA
approval.''
"We are very excited to be associated with one of the
nation's top developmental tours," said Richard Edmonson, CEO
of SkyGolf. "The New England Tour's decision to allow
professional golfers to use the SkyCaddie in competition further
validates that our technology gives golfers - regardless of skill
level - instant access to valuable information they need to play at
the highest level.".
As a result of the partnership with SkyGolf, New England Pro Golf
Tour players will compete for significant bonuses throughout the
12-event season, which begins June 8 at Atkinson (N.H.) Resort. The
SkyGolf Player of the Year Award - presented to the tour's
top-performing member using the SkyCaddie - can earn up to $4,500 to
be used for their 2006 PGA Tour qualifying school entry fee. The top
player each week utilizing the SkyCaddie can also earn up to $1,000.
The partnership with SkyGolf is one of numerous exciting
developments for the New England Pro Golf Tour, which has blossomed
into one of the nation's premier developmental golf tours. The Tour
plans to increase purses and reduce entry fees in the near future,
and recently announced a contract with The Golf Channel to have 10
of its 12 events televised in 2006.
The SkyCaddie is the only distance device that has proven to
enhance pace-of-play in competition, while providing instant access
to the vital course information golfers need to play their best
golf. According to RankMark, an independent golf equipment testing
company, SkyCaddie improved scores of test participants on average
by five strokes per round and saved them up to 25 minutes per nine
holes.
