Sean O’Hair’s rookie season on the PGA Tour has been a year of firsts. He made the cut in his first ever PGA Tour event. He won his first PGA Tour event at the John Deere Classic, becoming the tournament’s youngest champion
ever. He and his wife, Jacky, also gave birth to their first child, Molly, on February 18th.

The 23-year-old added to his growing list of accomplishments when he crossed the pond to compete in his first major championship, the 134th British Open at St. Andrews.

Despite not arriving in Scotland until Tuesday due to complications securing a passport, O’Hair legitimized his win the week prior with rounds of 73-67-70-73 for a 5-under par total.

His 15th place finish netted him $81,102 and earned him an exemption into next year’s championship at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake.

Within the span of one week, O’Hair earned a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour, a spot into next year’s winners only Mercedes Championships in Hawaii, and an exemption into next year’s British Open.

Sixteenth on the PGA Tour money list, he is also in prime position to finish in the top 30 money winners and earn a spot in the season ending PGA Tour Championship. Not surprisingly, his world ranking climbed to 53rd following
his victory last week. His performance in the British might propel him into the top 50, making him exempt into each of the four majors and the world golf championships.

Oh yes. Life is good for Mr. O’Hair.
