O’Hair 3rd, Billy Dickinson 15th in
Delaware Open
O’Hair misses out on playoff by a single shot
Newark, DE-Sean
O’Hair might be allergic to any finish that is outside of the
top five. Since early June, the Cleveland Golf Tour’s leading
money winner has not completed a single tournament outside of
that boundary.
O’Hair was at it
again this week. Following a tie for 5th in the
Cranston Open, O’Hair fired a final round of 4-under par 67 for
a 6-under 207 total, which left him one shot out of a playoff
eventually won by Chris Anderson.
Billy Dickinson, a
resident of Wilmington, Delaware, shot a final round of 1-under
71 for a 7-over 220 total, finishing in a tie for 15th
place.
Over 85 amateurs
and professionals competed in “The First State’s” Open, with the
two-day cut coming at 149.
It is a quick turn
around for the Cleveland duo, as they now head to Sterling, MA
for the next Cleveland event. The first round begins Monday at
Sterling Country Club.
With Canadian Tour
stars Rob Oppenheim, Jim Salinetti and Tele Wightman set to join
the Cleveland Tour for the remainder of the season, combined
with the fact that high-profile amateurs Mike Welch (the
two-time defending New England Amateur Champion), Jim Renner and
Adam Carlucci are each receiving sponsor’s exemptions into
Sterling, this coming week’s tournament figures to be one of the
most hotly contested in the history of the tour. |
