Cranston Open Divots

·        With his 15 foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole, Corey Harris earned his second career Cleveland Golf Tour victory, following last year’s victory in the Passaconaway Open.

·        Harris’ winning prize of $12,500 is the highest 1st place check in Cleveland Golf Tour history. Tour purses in general have risen steadily each year since the tour’s inception in 2001.

·        Jim Hallett’s solo 2nd finish marked his best finish of the season on the Cleveland Golf Tour.

·        Geoff Sisk secured his best finish since a season opening victory in the Atkinson Open.

·        Chris Damiano, a Scarsdale, NY native, recorded a 2-under par 69 in the final round to wrap up a tie for 5th place and his highest finish to date on the Cleveland circuit.

·        With a tie for 5th, tour money leader Sean O’Hair is the only player to finish inside the top 5 in every event this season. In fact, O’Hair has yet to finish outside the top five in any event this season, sans his two appearances on the Nationwide Tour.

·        Sam Corden’s 8th place finish was a career best on the Cleveland Tour. In 5 events, he has notched 4 top 20 finishes.

·        First and second round leader Christian Bartolacci, Jim Fitzpatrick, Drew Mayhew, Bart McCarthy and Ethan Rost also recorded their best finishes of the season at Cranston.

·        Jim Hallett aced the par 3, 141 yard 12th hole during the final round for his 9th career hole in one.

·        Angel and Ramon Franco, brothers of 4-time PGA Tour winner Carlos Franco, made their Cleveland Golf Tour debuts this week. Angel finished tied for 18th while Ramon tied for 30th.

·        Up next on the schedule is the Sterling Open beginning August 9th. This event figures to have one of the deepest fields of the season, including Jim Salinetti, Tele Wightman and Rob Oppenheim, all of whom are returning from the Canadian Tour to make their 2004 Cleveland Golf Tour debuts.
